A landmine was dropped on Napsbury Hospital in London Colney in 19th April 1941. It is not known if it was in fact intended for the nearby Radlett Aerodrome. Frederick Fitzjohn was a male nurse on duty on ward M4 at Napsbury at the time and took these photographs the next day. Kindly loaned to St Albans Museums for reproduction and inclusion in this image database from the family collection of Mrs M. Wickens (daughter of Frederick Fitzjohn).
