Watercolour by J.H.Buckingham showing The Old Roson Inn which used to stand on the A6 (or A1081) from Harpenden on the Childwickbury side of the road and was known as the Halfway House. The building appears to be from the late 17th century and its sign hangs over the road on a wrought iron stand. It was presumably demolished during improvements to the Childwickbury estate by Blundell Maple. The side road to the left leads to Cheapside Farm near Sandridgebury.
