" Poor Mr Atkins that was lavished by Eds and kept by him till of no use as a witness. ". Pencil sketch. Mr Thomas Atkins of Fishpool Street, smock-frocked, facing right in the witness stand. Atkins, an agricultural labourer, seems to have been politically active. Not bribed by Edwards. Having been summoned to the Commons Inquiry, he was abducted, taken to Watford, rescued from thence by Edwards and Blagg, and kept by them instead, and lost his job; Report … into the Existence of Bribery 1852 §10774-908 J H Buckingham, [Bribery Commission Sketchbook 1851], [35]
