Steel etching by George Cooke after a drawing by James Burton Jr., 1826. St Albans Clock Tower viewed from High Street looking up Market Place. Further down Market Place the old open-sided Market House can be seen. This building was knocked down and replaced with the Corn Exchange building in 1857. Label reads "Drawn by James Burton Jun[io]r. George Cooke 1826."
Duplicate of: 2005.5015(?); 1998.5061; 1998.5083; 1994.276. Note: on 1994.291, G.Cooke is named as engraver, so can we presume that this is also the case here?
