Watercolour by J.H.Buckingham showing the view across the Peahen Junction, St Albans from the top of London Road looking towards High Street and George Street. To the left is Holywell Hill, to the right Chequer Street with a horse and trap waiting at the junction. On the far left of the picture stands the Peahen Inn, prior to being rebuilt in the first decade of the twentieth century.
