Roman Lathe-spun Globular Jug. The handle of this jug is of much higher quality and appears to have been made for a different vessel. Although the handle fits the jug, its weight would cause it to overbalance, meaning it would not have stood up without support. Minerva is the goddess of War and Wisdom, she wears a Corinthian helmet. Above her is a lit tripod altar and a round Greek shield over two croissed spears, traditional attributes of Minerva. From main burial one, one of two early 2nd century AD Romano-British burials discovered at Turner's Hall Farm, Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, in March 2002.
