Doctor's stamp made from green steatite belonging to Lucius Julius Jevenis. Roman doctors and oculists prepared their own pastes, balms and ointments, each practitioner having his own remedy. This stamp would have been used to mark the doctor's name in sticks of balm. This doctor included myrrh, balsam and eggs in his prescription, which are listed on one side.
