Flooding on Old London Road, St Albans. This flood was the result of a storm on 21st June 1936, during which several buildings in St Albans were struck by lightening, including St Albans Abbey. The Fitzjohn family lived at 71 Old London Road at this time and their house and posessions were badly damaged by this flood, particularly the basement. Kindly loaned to St Albans Museums for reproduction and inclusion in this image database from the family collection of Mrs M. Wickens (nee Fitzjohn).
