Watercolour of Spencer House (Holywell House?). After Miss Brabant. Holywell House was one of the residences of John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough (1650- 1722) and his wife Sarah, neé Jennings (1660- 1744). It was demolished in 1837. Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough, also funded the construction of the Marlborough Almshouses on Hatfield Road in 1736, after her husband's death.
