Front cover of a leaflet produced for 'Salute the Soldier Week' 1944 in Framlingham in Suffolk. 'Salute the Soldier Week' was a fund-raising initiative in 1944 aimed at encouraging civilians to invest in the War Savings Campaign, in order to raise money to support the war effort.. 'Salute the Soldier Week' events were held across the country, including in St Albans. The previous year there had been a similar fundraising week called 'Wings for Victory Week'.
