Engraving of the monument to Sir Francis Bacon which stands in St Michael's Church St Albans, including the Latin inscription. Sir Francis Bacon (1561 - 1626), was an English stateman, philosopher and essayist, was the son of Sir Nicholas Bacon, who lived at Gorhambury, St Albans.
