Mezzotint, 228 x 305 mm (plate size). Engraved by Edward McInnes after a painting by Sir Thomas Laurence. Published in London, November 1 1839, by Hodgson and Graves, Her Majesty's Printsellers, 6 Pall Mall. Portrait of William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne (1779-1848). This mezzotint is engraved after a portrait painted c.1805, around the occasion of Viscount Melbourne's marriage. He went on to become Home Secretary in 1830-1834 and Prime Minister in 1834 and 1835-1841.
