Upper half of a Medieval drinking jug/mug. This little jug is made of earthenware and would have been porous. The source has not yet been identified but it was not made locally. Pottery tableware was very rare until the end of the medieval period. The wealthy used metal or glass cups, the poor used turned wood and leather.
