Monochrome photographic print showing Photograph of the East End of St Albans Abbey, including the Lady Chapel which formerly housed St Albans School, and the garden behind this. A new pathway around the Lady Chapel was built here around 1878, after this photograph was taken. This was to replace the old public passageway through the Abbey, which was being closed. Note on the far left the small size of the cedar tree which now dominates Sumpter Yard. This cedar tree was planted by the Dowager Lady Spencer on the 25th March, 1803.
