Oil painting entitled "Morning mist. A Landscape at Tyttenhanger Green" by H. Mitton Wilson, signed bottom left. Mitton Wilson was a landscape painter who lived in St Albans, in Harlesden Road and Brampton Road from 1905 until his death in 1925 when he was buried in the Hatfield Road cemetery. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and other London galleries between 1901 and 1919. Mitton Wilson was a close friend of J. R. Dunning and it is possible that this connection brought him and his family to St Albans this connection brought him and his family to St Albans and also connected him with many other local artists Mitton Wilson was primarily a landscape painter and the countryside around St Albans provided a great source of inspiration for him.
