Copy of a monochrome photographic print of Mr Henry Salisbury, his wife Susan and some of their 11 children, posed outside their home and shop on Leyton Road. This photograph is believed to have been taken in the 1870s, based on census data about the ages of the children in 1881. From left: Hilda (held by Nannie), Francis (Frank) Owen Salisbury (sitting), Cecilia (standing), Mr Henry Salisbury, Mrs Susan Salisbury, Lillian (standing), Emily (seated), Annie, Edgar and Susie. Frank Salisbury went on to become professional artist and portrait painter. Kindly loaned to St Albans Museums for reproduction and inclusion in this image database by Harpenden Local History Society.
