The Hut on Watford Road is known as the Wadley Hut after Jack Wadley, who had joined the group as a cub in 1930 and became a group scout leader during the 1960s. He was largely responsible for raising the money and organising the building of the new hut. Scouts, leaders and parents volunteered to do much of the work and Jack Wadley's daughter, Jenny, remembers many weekends spent at fundraising jumble sales and painting on the site. The Wadley Hut was opened in 1966 and is still in use today.
