  • St Saviours Church, St Albans
Half-tone print from a photograph of Jacob Reynolds (1835 - 1926), local businessman and farmer who lived at Heath Farm, Bernards Heath (see map PX3904 for location). Reynolds was also churchwarden of St Saviours church and supplied the bricks for the building of the church. It is known that Reynolds installed a brick-making machine on Bernards Heath in 1894 for the Heath Brick and Pottery Works there. Reynolds bricks are also known to have been used in the construction of the Hertfordshire County Museum (now the Museum of St Albans), the old Telephone Exchange in St Albans, and houses in Avenue Road, Sandridge Road, Stonecross and Upper Culver Road. Kindly loaned to St Albans Museums for reproduction and inclusion in this image database by St Saviour's Church, St Albans.
