Monochrome photographic carte de visite (albumen print mounted on board), 102 x 63 mm. No photographer's details. Full length standing studio portrait of an unidentified woman. This woman's dress and the general appearance of the carte suggests that this photograph was taken in the 1860s. Cartes de visite were particularly popular in Europe between around 1860 - 1870, after which time they were surpassed in popularity by the similar but larger cabinet card.
