Watercolour by J.H.Buckingham showing a field behind the King Harry pub with St Albans Abbey and the town in the distance. The little track in the foreground is a path into Verulamium. In the 1900's large houses were built along King Harry Lane on the edge of the park - or Lord Verulam's farming land as it was then - and Roman cremations were found.
