Description

The Tudor Tavern and the top of George Street, St Albans in winter. Before Telford's construction of Verulam Road in 1825, George Street was the main road into St Albans from the north-west, and before the rise of St Peter's Street, between the two world wars, it was one of the city's principal shopping streets.
