This land was bought by the city council from the Earl of Verulam in 1929 and became Verulamium Park. In the foreground is a group of men and boys gathering hay with pitchforks and loading it onto a horse-drawn cart. Postmarked St Albans S[e]p[tember] 19 [19]09.
