"Smith 'The St Christopher' Mr Neptune on his Throne just arrived from Sea - qn what C. Ansr Q-C." Compass points and Latitude N S alongside. Pencil sketch. Bearded figure in hat, with pipe, seated, covered by voluminous check travelling cape. Neptune Smith of Back Street, received £5 or £6 from Harry Edwards for his services as a publican, and as a 'fighting-man', or keeper of the peace, not for his vote.
