Jubilee Lighthouse, Silver Cup Pond

Oval monochrome photograph mounted on card with embossed frame showing Silver Cup Pond on Harpenden Common. The pond, commonly used for model boating, was named after the nearby Silver Cup public house. In the centre of the pond, a model lighthouse was built and fairy lights hung to celebrate the coronation of King George V in 1911. Kindly loaned to St Albans Museums for reproduction and inclusion in this image database by Harpenden Local History Society.
