Pen and ink drawing by C.R.Swift showing Ryder House, 27 Holywell Hill (now The Comfort Hotel), St Albans, prior to the construction of the Ryder Seed Hall (later build on the site to the right of this building). Note old fashioned car in foreground. Mr Ryder made his fortune founding Ryders Seeds, he opened offices and a floral hall for his seed company (the latter better known today as Café Rouge). He is best remembered, however, as founder of the Ryder Cup. Signed C.R.Swift, [19]29.
