Sanders Orchid Growers, Camp Road, after removal of old railway bridge. These buildings, seen here just before their demolition in 1968, were part of an orchid nursery of world renown. The business was set up in St Albans by Frederick Sander, later known as the Orchid King. He cultivated the flowers and supplied them world wide. The site has since been flattened, landscaped and is now school playing fields.
