Monochrome glass lantern slide showing the back of Christ Church, and rear of houses on Verulam Road, St Albans. This view appears to be from around Gombards Alley. Christ Church was begun as a Catholic Church by the M.P. Raphael before his sudden death in 1848. It remained unfinished until Mrs Worley completed it as a private chapel. It is now converted into offices.
