Camp Road Bridge and Sanders Orchid Growers; Hatfield Line. These buildings, seen here just before their demolition in 1968, were part of an orchid nursery of world renown. The business was set up in St Albans by Frederick Sander, later known as the Orchid King. He cultivated the flowers and supplied them world wide. The site has since been flattened, landscaped and is now school playing fields.
