Monochrome photographic print of Timpsons Shoe and Boot Makers Shop window taken around 1920 (following the First World War), with the shop keeper standing to the left of the window. The window display on the left with the signs "Roll Of Honour" and "Well Done South Harpenden" is a tribute to soldiers from South Harpenden who had been casualties in the war, with pictures of the soldiers and Union Jack flags. In the right hand window is a display of shoes and boots. The War Memorial in Harpenden was erected in 1922. Kindly loaned to St Albans Museums for reproduction and inclusion in this image database by Harpenden Local History Society.
