Wood engraving illustration cut from an unknown newspaper captioned "New Town Hall, Hemel Hempstead, opened on Tuesday 1 at...[remaining text cut off]". This appears to be the building now known as the Old Town Hall Arts Centre in Hemel Hempstead, which was constructed in 1852. Printed text on reverse includes an advertisement for "The Scottish Tourist" for 1852, which "in a few days will be ready", supporting a date of 1852 for this newspaper cutting. Part of the Lewis Evans Collection.
