Stipple and crayon manner engraving, inked in colour a la poupée with a little hand colour, 302 x 243 mm. No engraver's or publisher's details, no inscriptions (cut to image). c. 1800. Scene outside a country inn, with the sign of The Bell overhead; a serving maid hands seated swain a jug of foaming ale; pipe in his hand, and his dog, stick, and belongings tied in a handkerchief at his feet; countryside and a distant town in background.
