16th century stoneware jug. Handle is missing; there are 2 marks on the glaze where other pots touched it during firing. This sort of stoneware jug sometimes had a silver or silver-gilt lid or bindings, and could be valuable enough to mention in wills: Richard Rayneshawe left "a stone potte coveryd with sylver and gylte" to his cousin Edmonde Bardolffe.
