Late Iron Age clay coin pellet mould for 50 coin blanks. Large numbers of broken clay coin moulds dating from the Iron Age period have been found at several local sites around St Albans. They are evidence for the minting of considerable quantities of gold, silver and bronze coins at Verlamion, the Iron Age settlement which preceeded the Roman city of Verulamium.
