St. Albans Street Survey 1986: Faith Heath baby shop, 21, George Street, St. Albans. Before Telford's construction of Verulam Road in 1825, George Street was the main road into St Albans from the north-west, and before the rise of St Peter's Street, between the two world wars, it was one of the city's principal shopping streets.
