Etching by Victoria Hine entitled "St [sic] of Saint Alban & Watch Chamber.", showing the shrine of St Alban in St Albans Abbey with the wooden medieval Watchers Gallery in the background. Victoria Hine lived for part of her life in St Albans. She was the daughter of Samuel David Colkett an artist of the Norwich school of painting, and married the watercolourist Harry Hine around 1875. She painted and etched landscapes and exhibited at the Royal Academy and other London galleries from 1859 until the 1890's. These are from a set of 10 etchings by Mrs Harry Hine "An artistic Record of the Cathedral and City of St Albans" -published with notes about the abbey and the town by her husband.
