Watercolour by J.H. Buckingham showing harvesting in progress near Verulam Woods. To the right three men are laoding a horse-drawn cart with sheaves of wheat, to be taken to the barn and threshed later as an indoor job during the winter. This area is now Verulamium park but was formerly St. Germain's Farm. The farm house stood on the site now occupied by Verulamium Museum at the top of St Michael's village.
