"Mr Blanks - White Hart Hotel". Pencil, grey, green and pink wash, brush drawing. A large Mr Blanks, leans forward on the rail of the witness stand, cross-legged and nonchalant during his evidence. John Thomas Blanks of the White Hart Hotel, Holywell Hill, prominent member of the 'Third Party', who went to London in search of a candidate to challenge Joseph Bell - and his own commission.
