Monochrome postcard showing St Albans Abbey viewed from the North, most likely from the top of St Albans Clock Tower, looking down the Abbey Cloisters, also known as Waxhouse Gate. Many of the buildings seen here at the bottom of Waxhouse Gate were later demolished to make way for the development of Heritage Close shopping precinct in the early 1970s. No postmark, but hand written date on the back "June 5 1903".
Unwritten. See also 2006.54461, colour version of same photo. Note this is near identical to Valentine postcard 2006.5816, except for orientation of title.
