Embroidered Post Card bearing the motto "To My Dear Daughter" with floral motif. These were a popular type of card sent home by troops on active service during First World War. Message on reverse reads: "from Daddy to Eadey". Sent home from France by Private William John Fairy, a soldier from St Albans who later died, after being fatally wounded at Ypres in September 1917. One of a series of 12 similar items. Fairy also sent an identical card to his other daughter (1997.5048)
